These projects typically focus on the investigation and assessment of the building envelope and structural elements of the building. This is often followed with preparation of drawings and specifications to repair or rehabilitate deteriorated portions of the building or to allow for rehabilitation as part of a larger adaptive reuse program. Our projects have included over 125 properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places and 12 National Historic Landmarks. While sensitive to the original craftsmanship and aesthetics inherent in any such project, ARSEE brings an engineer’s approach to providing appropriate, functional, and financially responsible solutions to difficult problems. Working closely with appropriate historic agencies, ARSEE uses modern technology to develop lasting repairs in conformance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties with Guidelines for Preserving, Rehabilitating, Restoring and Reconstructing Historic Buildings.
